They wanted Click for Credit to feel bad, fine. They created Bad Kate Opus, fine. They banned Trick Shot for good reason. But they both nerfed Aseop and cut money across the board? If they want runners running, what is an acceptable way for Shaper to run and break ICE without getting annihilated by a Mestnichestvo that is not offensive to the senses? Because Knicknack is not it. Bring back Rezeki?
As usual, great article. Like PiCat, I feel that the interviews makes the article even better.
I would like to propose a slightly different read on the current meta : that the playstyle of each faction has grown to be much different than before.
Case in point : shapers have a lot of their economy ties to installable cards, now that Creative Commission is banned.
While criminal have kept their run based economy playstyle of the past meta, shaper need to do more setup than before. Figuring out how to play shapers will take a bit of time.
On the corp side, many tech from the past meta have rotated out and the power level has to be figured out. The most obvious here is the agenda suite of HB. It currently feel like neutral agendas are generally better than HB agendas, when you see most HB using Send a Message and Offworld Office, leaving little space for other agendas.
I really like that playstyle are more defined (kudos to the devs).
A word about Deep Dive. While it is strong, it will encourage corps to play better netrunner. Here are some possibilities :
* Having punishment for not winning on a deep dive (Measured Response, Phat).
* Damage to snipe deep dive (Anemone, Angelique).
* Upgrades to make accessing extra difficult (Manegarm, LEO, Anoetic)
* Making stealing more difficult (NAPD Cordon, Thule).
* Having lots of small agendas.
* Having 4+ ices on one central.
Any of those solutions is good against any runner archetype and makes the runner's game more complicated, which help against Deep Dive.
Really liking the little interview quotes!
