Fly to EMEA #3 Community Event Online (UTC+8) 10 Players 6 rounds SSS, Cut to top-3 TO: Krysdreavus
Jinteki dominated the tournament, with New World AgInfusion monopolising the top-cut, and Tempo PE and A Teia finishing in 4th and 5th place. AugustusCaesar (TAI Breakers) took the top spot with an Isaac Liberdade splash that runners weren’t prepared for. Nbkelly deployed a similar strategy with Rime. When asked about this spicy include, AugustusCaesar explained “8 strength Brân hits different”. Unfortunately, the new meta proved to be more of a struggle for all other Corp factions. Neither Nuvem, GameNET, PD or Thule were able to find a win in any of their games.
The runner spread was predominantly Anarch (70%), but the identity make-up was refreshingly varied. No Loup, but 2 x Esa and even a Sebastiao. Criminal enjoyed a small resurgence, outnumbering Shaper for the first time since Rw/oR was released.
Overall runners seemed to have an easier time of it, with almost ⅔ of games going in their favour. No real surprise there, considering that this is the first tournament to implement the 24.05 banlist, and how impactful that banlist has been to all of the previously popular corp lists. Whether corp win rates will stabilise as new strategies emerge, or whether this is the first indication of a runner favoured meta, only time will tell.
