Foundation
Starting in 2015, Chromatically taught the game of netrunner to group of high school friends. From that group, Icecreamcollege and ripnetrunner loved playing competitively and soon the three traveled together across the US to compete in tournaments. In 2018, FFG discontinued the game and the three friends took a break from the game as they were finishing college.
In March 2023, Chromatically taught Wikignometry how to play netrunner and she was instantly hooked. In the process of teaching Wiki the game, Chromatically got back into the game competitively and thus brought Icecreamcollege and ripnetrunner back as well. The next few months were spent honing our decks and competitive play for US East Coast Nationals 2023. There, Wiki took the crown and our group was cemented into the competitive scene.
Later in 2023, Wiki and Sokka started dating, leading to a partnership between TFP and Unband for CBI 2024. Shortly after that tournament, our group grew as Sokka officially joined our team as the 5th member.
Testing Process
We’re currently spread out across the continent (Pittsburgh, New York, Baltimore, Austin, and Vancouver) so all our testing happens online. During the day, thoughts and ideas (and memes) are sent to a Facebook Messenger group chat and we discuss/play on discord in the evenings of tournament season.
In the past, we did not produce completely new decks, instead focusing on refining and iterating on proven decks. We spend most of our time surveying tournament results and testing existing decks against each other to get a good picture of matchup spread. Now, we (primarily Sokka) will produce some new decks but a lot of our testing still involves playing and testing against established decks.
Applications
We are not actively looking for new members. Our small size is a strength so we are very conservative about adding new members.
