Mitra is a decent recovery tool against crew decks in my opinion. The ability to use Mitra to recover your strongest ice from archives and get a discount on rereading it means HB decks have functionally 6 brans for crews to churn through, leech is still a problem and the overall amount of ice in your deck does go down but at the very least you can focus on saving your toughest ice so that crew only killed a small ice. Some ice, like ablative, can combo with Mitra to save 2 ice, by having ablative reinstall an ice and then Mitra the ablative to bring back another, and subsidizing the cost as well. It doesn't mean crew isn't sapping your resources and with the game slowing down in general without a change to time limits glaciers will still have trouble in tournaments but as a long time glacier player I've got some hope right now.

Interesting that you highlighted BTL when NGO, Border Control and Crisium Grid were all fairly important to that deck.

I for one will be desperately trying to repair a leaking boat until someone else figures out how the big W survives (probably a kill fork).

I have probably understated how significant losing bio vault is for hyper-glacier BtL tbh, but Akhet gets a significant buff from the cleaver ban, and Syailendra seems to be pushing BtL in a glacier direction as well, so I think that the premise of the deck will stand up in some form.

I'm optimistic about Weyland, but a lot may depend on how well Plutus plays.

The overall problem with the advancable ice is that stuff like botchulus can neuter entire ice for the entire game for 2 credits and while there are answers they tend to work counter to the advanceable ice strategy. A treeline with 3-4 advancements is dead the moment a botchulus hits it, and i can mitra it but now I need to get the counters back, ahket and Syailendra will help get there but glacier can't really afford to have setbacks like that in competitive play and still make the time limit. The fact that many runners now want to run much more hopefully means they'll be hitting ahket and Sy more often so I have hope, but the lack of an upgrade in faction that hard stops the run without tearing down the server is problematic.

Given that netrunner doesn't have a "chess clock" system it's hard for glacier to do well because the runner tends to need more and more time thinking per turn so unless you are ahead you lose on time. Even if you are playing quickly.

Great article (as usual). I would like to add Neurospike to the tag and bag archetype, because I think the Neurospike type of deck has survived rotation, even if PE and Reeducation have rotated.

Bangun is an obvious ID for it. But Thule and core damage giving Corps are also good for it. Also, Fuji is still a valid agenda for that.

With Measured Response that can trigger after any run (at threat 4), this will put poor (usually runner that use viruses or bypass) runner at a significant disadvantages.

Where would you put a Corp that aim to setup a fork for the runner (A Teia is another good example for the archetype)? Would it be a mix of Mushin No Shin and Tag&Bag? To me it is its own archetype (named "the fork"), because it force the runner to either interact or lose.

Thanks for all the analysis you're doing. It is a great read and very helpful.

Cheers.

That's interesting. I guess "Fork" is a better term for it, because you are right, it doesn't necessarily need to involve rags (see Punitive RH example).

Although they both leverage hidden information, Mushin and Forking strategies feel, to me, very different from each other--both to employ and to play against. But that might be because of my very limited experience playing Mushin decks.

I don't know how good Neurospike will be in BANGUN, but it's obviously very good with Basalt Spire, so maybe!
